Topics of the lectures and discussions are the disclosure of information of state authorities towards the media and the status quo of the Press Councils in South East Europe.

The workshop aims at giving insights into the media legislation and self-regulation in the region. Besides that, practical recommendations for the countries in South East Europe will be discussed.

Prof. Dr. Johannes Weberling from the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) chairs a working group on media legislation. Christian Spahr, Head of the KAS Media Program South East Europe, moderates the discussions in the working group "Self-Regulation: Status Quo and Recommendations".
