The Bulgarian Access to Public Information Act was adopted in 2000 and it is considered to be a modern and sophisticated law. In Bulgaria there is a number of investigative journalists, who are specialized in using the Act and who promote the right of society to access public data through their work. The Macedonian Law of Free Access to Public Information was adopted in 2006.
Following the invitation of the KAS Media Program South East Europe and the Media Development Center and in cooperation with the Center for Civil Communications (Skopje), fifteen Macedonian journalists and media experts will meet Bulgarian colleagues in order to exchanges experiences and best practices on Tuesday, 12th March in Sofia. Furthermore the Macedonian guests will visit two print media houses and the Bulgarian National Television BNT for additional meetings.
