The conference aims at providing Young Israeli Diplomats the chance of discussing the challenges and chances of the Arab Spring to the relations between Israel and member states of the European Union. As both, the EU and Israel seek for a peaceful transition to democratic governments in the Arab world, the question remains to which extent there have been cooperation between Brussels and Jerusalem in this respect.

Panel I: Israeli and European interests in the countries affected by the Arab Spring and the cooperation between the EU and Israel in this context

Panel II: European-Israeli cooperation will be put on a larger scale. Being a close partner to Europe, the question is whether the traditionally close relationship of the EU and Israel has been manifested in long-standing commitments in order to deal with security challenges and to establish a close trade-partnership.
