Freedom of the Press in Namibia

Breakfast meeting with journalists

Namibia has been ranked highly by various international organisations as a press friendly country.

Some local experts differed with the ranking and argued that the ranking do not entirely reflect the realities on the ground as the criteria used by such organisations for ranking is narrow. As a response to the debate, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation decided to create a platform to allow members of the press to discuss and share their views. The topic for discussion was: Freedom of the Press in Namibia. The discussion highlighted interesting issues confronting media practitioners in Namibia.
