Human Rights Workshop & Community Engagement Rundu
Office of the Ombudsman
In collaboration with the Office of the Ombudsman and KAS, and in support by the Ministry of Justice, Office of the Governor Kavango East Region and other key stakeholders, this three-day community engagement and Human Rights workshop aims to inform and provide a platform of exchange with community and key stakeholders on access to human rights, as well as available legal services, the mandates of both the Ombudsman and Ministry of Justice, challenges, as well as relevant legislation unique to the experiences of the region. With the aid of the Security Sector, key representatives will also use this platform to outline means to combat human and child trafficking, as well as GBV. Protection Orders as well as Childcare Protection also constitute part of the topics of the engagement, together with a focus on land rights.

ECSO Project
The ECSO project is hosting a workshop with 26 participants from the Erongo and //Kharas regions from Monday 28 July – 01 August 2025 in Windhoek. The aim of this workshop is to empower CSOs to become strong advocates on issues affecting their communities and to better equip them to advocate for the rights of those most vulnerable. The workshop objective is to engage participants to effectively interrogate the legislation that is aimed at protecting the rights of all Namibian citizens.

The sessions further aim to facilitate networking and strengthen collaborations in Namibia's civil society sector.

The aim of this workshop is to empower CSOs to become strong advocates on issues affecting their communities and to better equip them to advocate for the rights of those most vulnerable. The workshop objective is to engage participants to effectively interrogate the legislation that is aimed at protecting the rights of all Namibian citizens.

National Students' Research Symposium
Unveiling Tomorrow’s Discoveries Through Inclusive Research and Innovation
The NSRS is scheduled at NIPAM in Windhoek from the 21st to 22nd August 2024. With over 150 invited participants the symposium aims to provide a platform for under-graduate and post-graduate students in Namibia to contribute towards thematic research areas such as: Health; Energy & Mining; Agriculture & Food Security; Environment, Water & Sanitation; Biotechnology; Human & Social Science; Digital Technologies; Indigenous Knowledge; Space Science; Science & Technology; Engineering. In cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education Technology and Innovation, KAS, the University of Namibia (UNAM) and Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), the symposium program comprises plenary sessions, panel discussions, oral and poster presentations, demonstrations and exhibitions. Registered Undergraduate and Post-graduate students that are currently engaged in research work had an opportunity to submit their proposals to contribute towards oral or poster presentations, and demonstrations during the symposium via a national call that was published on the websites of the NRS partner institutions and their social media sites. Other key stakeholders engaged to ensure the successful implementation of the symposium include SASSCAL, NCRST, IUM, NTA and NAMCOL.

Change Management, Proposal Writing, Communication Skills, Sustainable Resource Mobilisation, Social Enterprise Development, Tour of Parliament and Certificate Handover
This 5-day training intervention constitutes the final session of the 2024 KAS-TEP Programme. With the support of 5 experts and the National Planning Commission, 18 participants will graduate this week. The final session will include topics on Change Management, Proposal Writing, Communication Skills, Sustainable Resource Mobilisation, Social Enterprise Development, a Tour of Parliament and a Certificate Handover to conclude.

Eenhana
As part of the Digital Bootcamp Series, KAS in partnership with the NIPDB and NAMCOL will be hosting the 3rd session on basic computer skills for entrepreneurs in Eenhana. The aim of the three day training is to equip Namibia's MSMEs with the necessary digital skills to enhance their operations, production, scalability in the Namibian marketplace and therewith enhance economic development across the regions in Namibia.

Drafting of Youth Engagement and Empowerment training manual and training of facilitators
The ECSO project - Empowering CSOs, Women, Youth and Marginalised communities as Equal Partners in Democracy co-funded by the European Union in partnership with KAS seeks the services of an experienced and qualified expert to draft the curriculum and content of the Youth Engagement and Empowerment manual suitable for CSOs at grassroots level. Training of facilitators on the manual is part of this consultancy. Suitably qualified and experienced consultant(s) are hereby invited to submit proposals for this short-term consultancy of the ECSO Project. KAS-TEP Session 2 Swakopmund
Strategic Planning, Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement
Session 2 of the KAS-TEP Programme 2024 is scheduled in Swakopmund for 5 days. Together with the support of a topical expert and representative of the Swakopmund Town Council, 18 selected youth representatives of Civil Society from across Namibia will be capacitated on the topics of Strategic Planning, Project Management and Stakeholder Engagements. The session further aims to strengthen the networking and leadership skills of the beneficiaries to help shape future leaders.

Voters awareness program on Radio Eagle FM
Voters sensitisation and awareness is a crucial component in preparation of the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for November 2024. Our popular weekly Radioprogram continues on EagleFM. As part of its contribution to democracy and electoral process, KAS is supporting the voter education discussion on Eagle Radio. We urge the public to tune in every Thursday 14:30 -16:00 and have their questions and comments ready.

The project which is co-funded by the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung aims to strengthen these selected CSOs to become more sustainable in the long run.

This is the 2nd Roundtable on Economic Affairs conducted by KAS in collaboration with the University of Lusiada/Angola. The topics that will be presented by various experts and discussed with academic and political fraternity will deal with the current environment on labor market in Angola, in particular the impact of the informal sector on the growth and socioeconomic development in Angola.
