Human Rights Workshop & Community Engagement Rundu
Office of the Ombudsman
In collaboration with the Office of the Ombudsman and KAS, and in support by the Ministry of Justice, Office of the Governor Kavango East Region and other key stakeholders, this three-day community engagement and Human Rights workshop aims to inform and provide a platform of exchange with community and key stakeholders on access to human rights, as well as available legal services, the mandates of both the Ombudsman and Ministry of Justice, challenges, as well as relevant legislation unique to the experiences of the region. With the aid of the Security Sector, key representatives will also use this platform to outline means to combat human and child trafficking, as well as GBV. Protection Orders as well as Childcare Protection also constitute part of the topics of the engagement, together with a focus on land rights.

Advocacy and Human Rights Workshop Group 2: Erongo and //Kharas regions
ECSO Project
The ECSO project is hosting a workshop with 26 participants from the Erongo and //Kharas regions from Monday 28 July – 01 August 2025 in Windhoek. The aim of this workshop is to empower CSOs to become strong advocates on issues affecting their communities and to better equip them to advocate for the rights of those most vulnerable. The workshop objective is to engage participants to effectively interrogate the legislation that is aimed at protecting the rights of all Namibian citizens.

Session 2 of the annual KAS Talent Empowerment Programme, hosted in Otjiwarongo for four days, aims to capacitate 16 selected youth from Civil Society with Strategic Planning, Project Management & Change Management skills. The sessions further aim to facilitate networking and strengthen collaborations in Namibia's civil society sector.

Celebrating International Women’s Day. Women as Change Makers
In celebration of International Women’s Day KAS gathered with women from all walks of life and various sectors, including the business sector, and to reflect on the role Women play as Change Makers. Resident Representative, Natalie Russmann took the floor alongside many great women, namely to ponit out Hon. Christine Hoebes minister of presidential affairs to highlight women's role in forging #demorcacy #economicdevelopment and peace.

National Disability Week
Innovative Solutions toward an accessible and inclusive society
KAS were invited by the National Disability Council of Namibia - NDCN on 05th and 06th March to share insights on effective Disability Programmes at the National Disability Week in the Oshana region. The event was attended by key ministries, the Namibia Board of Standards and other key stakeholders. Even Organisations for People with Disabilities were present to exchange. The event highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships, accountability, transparency and good governance when developing and implementing sustainable and impactful  #programmes for #personswithdisabilities. Together key stakeholders continue to collaborate in Namibia to promote inclusivity and favorable regulatory frameworks for the sake of access to services and employment opportunities for PWDs.Â

ECSO Project Operational and Administrative Management Training
//Kharas Region
The past week 04 - 08 March 2024 the KAS and WAD team who are implementing the ECSO project hosted a training for 13 CSOs from //Karas region on Operational and Administrative Management in Keetmanshoop. The training was able to empower a total of 24 participants in a 5-day workshop aimed at strengthening the internal operational structures of their respective organisations.

Human Rights Training
The Ombudsman as a bridge for Collaboration
A three-day human rights training in collaboration with KAS, the Office of the Ombudsman and Zambezi, Kavango East and Kavango West Governor's Offices, to capacitate 60 participants ranging from regional and local authorities, the community, youth, stakeholders in the disability and service delivery sector and civil society. The training will be facilitated by selected experts from multiple sectors in Katima Mulilo, with the aim to forge a collaborative effort to increase civic education and civic responsibility in order to build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.

ECSO Project Training: Operational and Administrative Management Erongo
Module 1
The ECSO project will be conducting it's second training on Module 1: Operational and Administrative Management for Erongo region targeting 11 CSOs with capacity building to strengthen their internal operational and administrative process. The training will take place in Swakopmund with 22 participants representing various CSO from the Erongo Region. The workshop shall also offer opportunities to network and join forces among the CSOs.

Voters Education NBC Radio Programme
Namibian Voters Sensitisation and Awareness
Voters sensitisation and awareness is a crucial component in preparation of the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for November 2024. As part of its contribution to democracy and electoral process, KAS is supporting the voter education discussion programme on NBC Radio. We urge the public to tune in every Tuesday, 10:00 -11:00 and participate.

Empowering CSOs, Women, Youth and Marginalised communities as Equal partners in Democracy
In an effort to advance the interest of women, youth and marginalised communities, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung would like to announce the launch of the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung co-funded project titled "Empowering CSOs, Women, Youth and Marginalised communities as Equal Partners in Democracy" (ECSO). The project launch will be held on Tuesday 23 January 2024 and aims to shine the light on this exciting new project that will be co-implemented by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Women's Action for Development in Namibia. The project which will focus on capacity building and advocacy skills building, will target CSOs in the //Karas, Kunene and Erongo regions for the next 2 and a half years with targeted interventions. The launch of the project is the start to bringing visibility to efforts aimed at supporting youth and marginalised persons in addressing social challenges that they face on a daily basis across the respective three regions.

ECSO Project Needs Assessment
Erongo, //Karas, Kunene
The new "Empowering CSOs, Youth, Women and Marginalised communites as Equal Partners in Democracy" (ECSO) project which is co-funded by the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung for the next 2 and a half years will commence activities this coming week. The project which will be co-implemented by Women's Action for Development and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung will be holding it's first activities in Erongo, //Karas and Kunene regions where meetings will be hosted in the targeted regions with selected Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to introduce the project and assess their needs for upcoming capacity building trainings. The implementing team will be in //Karas region from 4 - 5 December, in Erongo region from 7 - 8 December and finally Kunene from 14 - 15 December.
