ECSO Project Third Module Training on “Youth Engagement and Empowerment”

Last week, the ECSO Project hosted the last training of the year on "Youth Engagement and Empowerment" with 29 participants from selected CSOs, traditional authorities and media from the //Karas region. Participants were capacitated on how to effectively engage and work with youth to improve their communities.

Erongo region
The ECSO project hosted the 2nd training on Youth Engagement and Empowerment with 24 participants form CSOs, Traditional Authorities and Media on selected topics regarding youth in Namibia. The training was able to capacitate participants to effectively engage youth during their work within the Erongo region. The ECSO project is co-funded by KAS and the European Union and implemented in collaboration with Womens' Action for Development.

Since 1994, KAS has supported the Women's Action for Development, to continue advocating for the rights of women and empowering communities across Namibia. We are proud to announce the celebration of WAD's 30th Anniversary and wish our organisational partners all the best going forward. Kunene Region
The ECSO project will be hosting the third module training on the topic “Youth Engagement and Empowerment” with selected CSOs, traditional authorities and Media personnel in Outjo, Kunene region in the week of 14 to 18 October 2024. With the support of the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, as well as the joint implementation with Women’s Action for Development, the goal is to improve the participants' engagement with youth to promote the upliftment and empowerment of the youth in the region.
Workshop Lobito Corridor
Understanding the Lobito Corridor: Potentials and Challenges for the Region Southern Africa
In cooperation with the Instituto Superior Politécnico Lusíada de Bengula KAS Namibia-Angola is hosting a first Workshop to dive into the the project of the Lobito Corridor. Invited stakeholders from the Port of Lobito, Lobito Atlantic Railway, Representatives from Lobito Municipality and private sector as well academic fraternity will share valuable insights on this significant mega project meant to boost the connectivity and mobility of the mineral rich Region, DRC, Zambia and Angola.

Second Round - IIKaras
The ECSO project team will host the second round of information sessions with the selected CSOs participating in IIKaras region on 24 September in Keetmanshoop. The topic will cover the importance of Participatory Democracy and the role CSOs plays in this process. On 25 September the ECSO project team will then proceed with the second round of CSO meetings with selected participating CSOs in the project with the aim to further support their relationship building efforts with regional stakeholders to achieve their common goals. The project supported by the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, in association with Womens Action for Development continues to make efforts to improve the sustainability of CSOs and their impact in their communities.
Annual Magistrates' Conference
Fostering a Unified Magistracy
The Magistrate Commission in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Magistrate in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) are hosting the Annual Magistrates' Conference in Swakopmund in a continued effort to improve service delivery in the judicial sector and ensure the efficient and effective administration of Justice within the country. It is against this backdrop that the Annual Magistrates Conference serves as an annual platform where amendments of acts, policies, and regulations are canvased, challenges in the regions are shared, and strategies are formulated to deal with the ever-increasing court roll. The platform further serves to bring Magistrates from across Namibia together to share best practices and strengthen their capacity with the support of topical experts.
