Capacity Building for Middle-Management Legal Officers
The Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations (MoJLR) in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), Namibia-Angola office, is hosting a 4-day Leadership Training Initiative in Windhoek, aimed at strengthening leadership, management, and professional competencies of 36 middle-management legal officers within the Ministry. The fully funded capacity building initiative forms part of a three-phase strategic internal capacity-building programme aimed at enhancing institutional capability and improving service delivery in support of the rule of law and justice sector development. Phase one facilitated by the Saki Nikodemus Institute for Practical Leadership and Hermien Speaks, targets Chief Legal Officers and Deputy Chief Legal Officers in the Directorates of Legislative Drafting, Legal Services, Law Reform, and the Master of the High Court to strengthen skills pertaining to Leadership, Management and Supervisory Skills; High-Performance Organisational Culture; Change Management; Inter-personal and Communication Skills; Emotional Intelligence; Team Cohesion. Ultimately, the partnership is geared toward strengthening the Ministry's institutional leadership capacity, whilst enhancing professional excellence within the legal cadre to support a high performance and service delivery orientated culture.

In celebration of Kuiseb Publishers’ 40-year anniversary, the Namibia Scientific Society (NNS) in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and Namibia Library and Archive Services (NSAL), are launching the Publication titled "Namibia Land of Many Cultures" at the Namibia Scientific Society. With over 100 invited guests, this celebratory evening aims to merge culture, and community and reflect on four decades of publishing whilst the editors will share an overview of this the new book which highlight the richness and diversity of the Namibian nation. Economic Strengthening Workshops in Kunene
ECSO Project
The ECSO project is hosting the first of three planned workshops on economic strengthening from 12 to 13 June in Outjo. The goal of the workshops is to empower at least 15 participants representing small businesses who are identified by CSOs in the community with the capacity, to create sustainable business models. The workshops also cover entrepreneurial skills training that forms the basis of this capacity building initiative on economic strengthening.
Project proposal writing & donor funding sessions in Kunene Region
ECSO Project
The ECSO project is conducting a range of project proposal writing workshops for 2 days with selected CSOs of the Kunene region participating in the ECSO project. The sessions scheduled from 10 to 11 June in Outjo aim to reach 24 participants. The training covers aspects of proposal writing best practices and tips on how to approach donors for potential funding.
Public Discussion: Advancing Human Rights through Digitization
In Conjunction with the Introduction of the incoming KAS Namibia-Angola Director, Anna Hoffmann-Kwanga
Joint by decision and policy makers, academia, the legal fraternity, digital experts, students, and civil society, this three-hour public discussion, in conjunction with the Introduction of the new incoming KAS Director, Mrs. Anna Hoffmann-Kwanga, aims to unpack the role of digitization and AI in promoting human rights, access to civic education and inclusion in Namibia. With a keynote address by the Ombudsman, Adv. Basilius Dyakugha, as well as presentations by Dr. John Nakuta and MindsInAction STEAM, KAS and its partners, continue to join hands to strengthen democratic structures in Namibia’s ever advancing digital landscape.

KAS-TEP Session 1 Swakopmund
Leadership Skills, Critical Thinking and Change Management
We are excited to announce the kick-off of our 1st Session for the KAS-Talent Empowerment Programme 2025 in Swakopmund from 19 to 23 May 2025. This year we have selected 16 youth representatives out of 70 applicants, to participate in this extensive capacity building programme for civil society. The selected youth from across Namibia are active in community development initiatives, promotion of human rights, gender and youth empowerment, political, digital and climate advocacy to name a few. In Session 1, the beneficiaries are exposed to an introductory and networking platform, followed by sessions on leadership skills, critical thinking and change management. We congratulate the successful candidates and look forward to hosting this year's intake.
KAS-TEP Session 1 Swakopmund
KAS Talent Empowerment Programme
As part of the 7th Intake of the KAS-TEP Programme, an annual civil society capacity building initiative, this year's first session will kick off in Swakopmund. The training will focus on equipping 15 carefully selected youth representatives of civil society across Namibia, with leadership skills, emotional intelligence and critical thinking. The successful candidates will also have an opportunity to introduce their organisations and network extensively during the 5-day intervention.
Second Public Dialogue Karas Region

On Friday 09 May 2025 the ECSO project is facilitating the second public dialogue in the //Karas region with the aim to bring together CSOs and Stakeholders to discuss and engage on the topic “The Role of CSOs in promoting voter registration and participation in regional and local government elections”. A topic that is of great interest and importance to the community of the //Karas region.
Karas Region Monitoring and Mentoring Meetings
ECSO Project
From 06 – 08 May 2025 the ECSO project is conducting monitoring and mentoring sessions with selected CSOs from the //Karas region. The aim of these meetings is to visit each CSO individually to assess their adaption of trainings received for Module 1 to Module 3 thus far. Module 1: Operational and Administration Management; Module 2: Financial Literacy; and Module 3: Youth Engagement and Empowerment. Furthermore, these visits serve as mentoring sessions for any additional support these CSOs may require.
Youth in Politics Windhoek
Dialogue
KAS hosted the first round of Youth in Politics discussion on 25 April 2025 at the KAS Office in Windhoek. Representatives from political parties participated in the discussion centred on contemporary and the future driven Youth Agenda and digital tools as a source of power & influence. This ongoing dialogue platform aims to prepare & shape future leaders for sustainable governance.
