Keynote address by Helen Kezie-Nwoha, Executive Director of Isis Women's International Cross Cultural Exchange on:

“Women, Peace and Security in Africa: A regional overview of the status, challenges and opportunities for rural women and girls”

Followed by a panel discussion on:

“Women’s peace building initiatives in DRC, Burundi and South Sudan: Experiences, challenges and opportunities in rural conflict-affected settings”

Speakers:

Marie Concessa Barubike, Coordinator at Association des Femmes Rapatriées du Burundi (AFRABU)

Emilie Nsimire, Project Manager at Cordaid in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

Avia Scovia, Director at Stewardwomen South Sudan

Opening remarks on “An Overview of Progress, Opportunities and Challenges in implementing SDG 5, SDG 16 and UNSCR 1325” will be offered by Anne Kwakkenbos, Expert on Gender, Security & Justice at Cordaid and Juliet Were, Program Manager at Isis Women's International Cross Cultural Exchange.

The Panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.
