Providing research support to the legislature has been recognized by many parliaments across the world as a task better left for dedicated research institutes that are independent, yet closely linked to their respective national parliaments like NILDS. To this extent, constant trainings are needed for research fellows and staff to be able to provide the legislators substantial and target-oriented advice as well as direction in their policy-making and legislative duties.

Research fellows and other relevant staff of NILDS that have attended previous workshops will participate in this capacity building training aimed at focusing on topics from core research, academic and administrative areas. The workshop will be practice-oriemtied on build on existing skills to support the sustenance of dynamic and effective legislature in Nigeria.

The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to democracy, rule of law and good governance in Nigeria.
