Details

The Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2017- 2021 came to an end in 2021, and a new successor plan known as FCSSIP 2021- 2025 which has the objective of consolidating the achievements of the FCSSIP21 was recently launched. There is an emergent necessity to equip the relevant officials with the essential details of the ongoing reform programmes being championed by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), especially on the planned phases, structures and elements as contained in the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan.

In order to strengthen the capacity of the directors and heads of departments, who will act as multipliers in their various offices, senior policy experts and consultants will be brought to offer their expert views, review the new plan and offer recommendations on implementation. Amongst topics to be covered are Why is Reform Undertaken in the Federal Civil Service and how should it be done?; Capacity Building and Talent Management in the FCSSIP25 and the Prospects of Transforming the Service through a knowledge-driven Approach; Salary Harmonization and non-Monetary Incentives for Civil Servants in FCSSIP25; Integrated Personnel Payroll and Information System (IPPIS) and the new HR Module as a Pillar of FCSSIP25; Performance Management as a Pillar of FCSSIP25: Entrenching a Merit based System in the Service Digitization of Records and Processes for improved Service Delivery; The Problem that instigated the Series of ongoing Reforms in the Federal Civil Service; Why Public Service Reforms fail and the Pitfalls to avoid them in the Nigerian Situation; and a panel discussion on Evolving Strategies for engaging the Departments of Reform Coordination in the implementation of FCSSIP25 in the MDAs  among others.

The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to democracy, rule of law and good governance in Nigeria.
