Apart from being the secretariat of the National Economic Council, this department also provides secretarial services for the Joint Planning Board (JPB) and the National Council on Development Planning (NCDP).

In order to strengthen the capacity of the staff and the department in general, policy experts and consultants will be brought to offer their expert views, opinions and recommendations on ways the secretariat can improve on its services in line with global best practices. Amongst topics to be covered are Work Ethics and Values in the Public Service; Effective Administrative Procedures; Team Building in the Workplace; Public Procurement and Prospects; Strategic Communication: Financial Regulations in the Public Service: The Banana Peels; Strategic Human Resource Management; and Dynamics of Reforms in the Public Service among others.

The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to democracy, rule of law and good governance in Nigeria.
