Apart from the traditional conflict spots in the country, Nigeria meanwhile faces a completely new threat. Almost on a daily basis, people, Muslims and Christians, are dying in attacks by the terrorists.

For their alleged goal, the establishment of an Islamic state, they use outreaching violence.

For the Security Forces, terrorism constitutes an unprecedented challenge. The enemy is invisible and successfully spreads fear and terror. Meanwhile, the focus is back on the capital Abuja. If the security forces can not quickly master the situation, the stability of the whole country might be at risk.

KAS and partner IMPACT have supported the security forces for years, especially in international peacekeeping missions. Already in the past, the training showed great successes, particularly in de- escalating the conflicts after the 2011 elections. This year, we focus on concepts and practices to combat terrorism.
