Honourable Oluomo highlighted his activities in the parliament since he was elected, especially in the areas of education by providing free school buses for students, and wished to know what the electorates would like him to do for them.

After the election of Members of state houses of assembly, there is a break in the communication between them and the voters. The elected representatives stay at the state capitals where the assembly houses are located, and go rarely back to their electorates to give them feedback on their activities in the houses, until another election is approaching. Part of the reason is the financial burden associated with going to the electorates. This is creating a big problem in the Nigerian democracy, as the gap between the representatives and their electorates are getting bigger every year.

KAS in partnership with some local NGOs came up with the idea of creating a platform called Town Hall Meeting and started in Plateau State in 2008. This was, followed by Cross River State in 2009, and in Ogun State in 2014, where the meeting was organized in partnership with IMPACT for Change and Development (IMPACT).

Among the 120 participants were three kings from the local government attended the town hall meeting. They are: Oba T.O. Afolabi, Olu of Otomi land; Alhaji Rafiu Ajayi, Olu of Ikoko; and Prof. Oba Ayorinde, Oba Ilu Koka. Other participants included members of community development association, the chairman of market men and women association, teachers, religious leaders, youths, members of different political parties, civil servants and many other constituents who are politically active.

At the end, both the elected representative and the constituents agreed to have a public complaint box, where the constituents will be able to drop their comments, questions, and grievances for the attention of their representative, despite the fact they now have his telephone number.
