Interagency Collaboration among Security Agencies in the North-East Zone

KAS is cooperating with Nigeria’s House of Representatives’ Committee on Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to organize a four-day training workshop for middle-level officers of security agencies in the North-East geopolitical zone on promoting interagency collaboration and operational effectiveness. The workshop which will hold in Bauchi, Bauchi State, is for officers drawn mainly from operations, public relations, peace and conflict resolution departments from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, Nigeria Immigrations Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps, the NSCDC among others from Bauchi, Gombe and Yobe States.


​​​​​​​​​​​​​The training workshop aims at improving the capacity of officers of Nigeria’s security agencies to acquire practice knowledge and skills on interagency collaboration, conflict prevention and resolution, and overall operational effectiveness. Participants will be exposed to the principles and practice of interagency collaboration, emotional intelligence, early warning systems, intelligence gathering, managing criminal litigation, rules of engagement, conflict resolution, joint interagency planning, leadership in complex military situations, law enforcement and internal security, emotional intelligence, rule of law, ethics and professionalism, responsibility to protect among others. KAS has garnered erudite facilitators who are seasoned experts in security sector reform, who will apply best practices in active learning, presentations, case studies, role plays, audio-visual aids, and scenario analysis to help the participants imbibe practical knowledge. The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
