Interagency Collaboration among Security Agencies in the South-South Zone

Support to the SSR in Nigeria

KAS is cooperating with Nigeria’s House of Representatives’ Committee on Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to organize a four-day training workshop for middle-level officers of security agencies in the South-South geopolitical zone on fostering sustainable interagency collaboration. The training workshop is a follow up to several trainings conducted for officers at different levels in the security agencies from the zone since the past three years.

Details

This training which will hold in Port Harcourt, will have middle-level cadre officers mainly from departments of operations, peace and conflict resolution from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, and the NSCDC from Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers States. Through the training workshop, KAS is strengthening the capacity and skills of officers, and to reinforce adherence to the principles and practice of interagency collaboration and conflict resolution. Participants would be exposed to several knowledge areas including strategies for enhancing effectiveness in joint operations, team building, operations management, rule of law, ethics and professionalism, among others. Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) has continually delivered impactful training by engaging erudite experts in security sector reform and action learning techniques to foster effectiveness and efficiency in skills acquisition and development. The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
