Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is cooperating with Nigeria’s House of Representatives’ Committee on Army to organize a two-day seminar on strengthening interagency collaboration and conflict resolution towards eliminating interagency rivalry, through review of overlapping mandates of security agencies.

This seminar aims at bringing together, service chiefs, senior officers of security agencies, leadership and members of the various committees on security in Nigeria’s House of Representatives to discuss strategic initiatives towards institutionalizing the practice of interagency collaboration especially processes of reviewing the laws of the various security agencies to avoid competition.It would further strengthen platforms for productive engagement between the security agencies and the legislature towards eliminating ambiguous provisions in statutes that have continually created unhealthy rivalry among personnel of security agencies in the discharge of their duties. The roundtable is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
