VISION NIGERIA by KAS – Selected broadcasts from the month of January 2013

KAS Nigeria has been active in its endeavour to bring about 'Democracy, Rule of Law and Prosperity' to Nigeria. In doing this, KAS operates an interactive radio programme "VISION NIGERIA" aiming to inform millions of Nigerians through the media.

Details

"Vision Nigeria" is a one hour radio programme aired in four locations across the country; Abuja, Enugu, Kaduna and Port Harcourt. A wide range of topics spanning from social issues to long term development policy issues is discussed. The programme which is aimed at the general public encourages interested citizens to tune in and participate with phone calls and text messages as these important issues are analysed.

ENUGU

11/01/2013 Conflict and Fragility as Impediments to the Attainment of the MDGs. Africa has been described as a continent in crisis of socio-economic transformation, thus the need to develop a new strategic framework related to peace, development and security. Guest: Mr. Ochie Malachy Chuma.

18/01/2013 Ensuring Transparency in Governance through Citizenship Participation. Good Governance Media tours as initiated by the Minister of Information Hon. Labaran Maku is a welcomed development. The importance of this programme would serve as image enhancement exercise for Nigeria both within and internationally. Dr. Emma Iroegbu will be the guest speaker.

25/01/2013 The Challenges and prospects of Industrialization. Currently, Nigeria is striving at least as a policy statement to become one of the first 20 economies of the world by the year 2020, otherwise captured the 202020. But the reality surrounding the situations make it somewhat an illusion. Factors affecting Industrialization in the country include corruption, inconsistent policies and energy issues. Guest Speaker: Prince Johnny Ukwuani.
