In the run-up to the local elections, KAS conducted a training on 3 September with potential candidates for mayors and councilors from the Alternativa party. The topic of this training was “Strengthening democratic capacities at the local level”.

Training

On 4 September, KAS held a training on “Strengthening democratic capacities at the local level” for the mayoral candidates and some of the potential candidates for municipal councilors proposed by the Alliance for Albanians. The training was mainly focused on topics related to capacity building of politicians at the local level, as well as topics related to communication with the public.

Political Academy 2021

Fostering democracy on local level - Building good policies and strategies for sustainable local development

On September 1 and 2, KAS in cooperation with PIAC "Ljubisa Georgievski" organized a Political Academy for VMRO-DPMNE candidates for mayors and leaders of councilor lists on the topic: “Fostering democracy on local level - Building good policies and strategies for sustainable local development”. The hybrid event included numerous Macedonian and German politicians, experts and theorists from various fields.

From 28 to 30 May, KAS organised a three-day seminar for the parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE and the Coalition in Ohrid in cooperation with the Party Research and Analytical Center "Ljubisha Georgievski". Numerous Macedonian and German politicians and experts from various fields participated in the hybrid event.

On 19 May, KAS in cooperation with the European Movement in the Republic of North Macedonia and the Delegation of the European Union organized a hybrid event on “The Future of Europe and the Future of the Enlargement” as a final event in this year’s celebration of May 9 – Europe Day.

Religion and Education

Why it matters?

On May 12, 2021. online discussion entitled Religion in Education - Why it matters? was held. This discussion was organized in digital format, through the Zoom platform, by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in collaboration with the Association of Professors of Ethics in Religions. Thirty participants, professors on the subject of Ethics in Religions, took part and it was a good opportunity to hear their views on the benefits of having religious education and the status of the subject itself in anticipation of the announced reforms in education.

I have something to say about my future

9 May – Europe Day

On 27 April 2021, an online student debate on the topic "I have something to say about my future" was held on the occasion of 9 May, Europe Day. KAS organised the event in cooperation with the European Movement in the Republic of North Macedonia and the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of North Macedonia. With 40 students from several universities in the country participating, the debate was an excellent opportunity to hear what kind of society young people want to live in.

On 16 April, KAS organized an online discussion on the topic "Club of Youth or Club for Youth? Where Should the Focus be?" in cooperation with the Parliamentary Club for Youth Issues and Policies. The discussion took place in the framework of the event "Political Leadership of the Future: Challenges for Youth in a Post-COVID-19 Society”.
