How Government and Parliament Support Sustainable Local Policy

Aiming to strengthen local political capacity building, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with the Party Research and Analytical Center “Ljubisha Georgievski” from 13 to 15 June 2025 organised a training in Shtip on the topic: “Strong Communities, Strong Future: How Government and Parliament Support Sustainable Local Policy.” Bringing together members of the Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE and mayoral candidates, this event laid the groundwork for developing and implementing sustainable and effective policies at the municipal level — a key foundation for a well-functioning state.

Europe Day 2025

25 Years of Supporting North Macedonia's EU Integration and Democratic Progress

On 28 May 2025, the annual Europe Day event took place at the invitation of the European Movement in the Republic of North Macedonia, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies. Marking 25 years of European engagement in North Macedonia, the event featured a panel discussion on EU enlargement and integration, followed by a youth club focused on political participation among young people.

25 Years of Konrad Adenauer Foundation in North Macedonia

On Tuesday, May 27, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation marked a significant milestone with a ceremonial evening celebrating 25 years of its presence in the Republic of North Macedonia. Held at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence in Skopje, the evening brought together eminent guests, state officials, political leaders and long-standing partners to reflect on a quarter-century of commitment to democratic values, dialogue and development in the country.

At the latest event of the Interreligious Classroom project on Tuesday 13th of May, we were pleased to welcome a group of 16 students, equally representing the Faculty of Orthodox Theology “St. Clement of Ohrid” and the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Skopje.

Political Academy 2025

Strengthening the Capacities of Local Self-Government

KAS and the Party Research and Analytical Center “Ljubisha Georgievski” organized the Political Academy 2025, aimed for the mayors from VMRO-DPMNE, with the goal of enhancing their organizational, communication, and strategic capacities. The event took place from 11 to 13 April in Krushevo. Experts in the fields of communication and strategic planning delivered presentations during the event.

The fire disaster in Kočani: Shock for state and society in North Macedonia

Investigations uncover negligence and corruption behind the tragic incident

On March 16, 2025, 59 people died and 196 were injured in a fire disaster at the Pulse nightclub in Kočani - one of the worst tragedies in the country's history. The incident sparked nationwide outrage and led to calls for more rule of law and a reorganization of the system.
