Workshop: Professionalism in Online Media - Challenges, Opportunities and Practices

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) are organizing workshop titled “Professionalism in Online Media - Challenges, Opportunities and Practices” which will be held in Ohrid. Very important factor in the self-regulation system is the media to respect the ethical standards during their work. In this direction, the best ethical practices will be presented to participants during the workshop and through a debate the best and final criteria for selecting online media that can join the Register of professional online media will be identified. This register will be created by the AJM, the Council of Media Ethics and the Chamber of Commerce. The selected trainers for the workshop are very experienced on these topics and their knowledge in ethical reporting and media self-regulation as well as legal aspects in which media operate can help online media to improve their knowledge how to work better in this legal framework. Taking this into consideration the final goal of this workshop is to have even more professional media, to make a clear difference between professional and unprofessional media, and finally to have a better informed public. Having this in mind, the whole process should help to regain the trust of the public in the media.

Dialogue for Cooperation in the Field of European Integration and Accession Negotiations

Considering the lack of expertise, which North Macedonia lacks in regards to the Accession Negotiations, it is of key importance that the country utilizes regional expertise. In this context country which has successfully finalized this process in more recent history is Bulgaria. Keeping in mind the new positive dynamic of the bilateral relationship between the two countries Bulgarian experts could be used to spur the process of EU integration by providing significant know-how and knowledge. The aim of this event is to open a table of dialogue which includes academia, experts, politicians, journalists and representatives of NGO’s aiming to boost North Macedonia’s capacity for negotiation once the process initiates.

Regional School Security 2019

HYBRID THREATS AND THEIR IMPACT ON DEMOCRACY – POSSIBILITIES FOR REGIONAL COOPERATION

In cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies from Brussels (WMCES) The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung together with the Faculty of Security-Skopje and the Center for Research and Policy Making organizes the Regional School Security 2019. The initiative involves students and professors from the Faculty of Security-Skopje, the Macedonia University from Thessaloniki and the Ss. Clement Ohridski University-Sofia. By tackling topics which are of common interest, the project aims to straighten cooperation and exchange between countries of the region, especially between youngsters, future experts and stakeholders. At the same time, the cooperation and exchange between the universities from North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Greece will serve as a positive example to politics and should positively reflect the bilateral and multilateral relations between the countries in the region.

I. Regional Political Youth Academy - Challenges to European Democracy

in cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies from Brussels

There are many organizations that bring young people from the region together. However, there is no initiative that connects the leadership of the political youth organizations of the KAS partner parties in the region. It is important to understand that these people will lead the countries in the next couple of decades. Because of this they need to get to know their region in terms of economy, society, energy, security etc. The main objective of this Regional Political Youth Academy is to create contacts between the young leaders belonging to the EPP family and to encourage them to think through the prism of the whole region and in the spirit of Euro-Atlantic friendship and values. The topics discussed during the academy will refer to Challenges to European Democracy, the Future of Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, the Future of the Transatlantic Relations and Security, Economy, Cultural Exchange, Regional Cooperation and etc.

Strategic planning for political change 2024

Workshop

Within the framework of the excellent cooperation, KAS and Party Research and Analytical Centre "Ljubisa Georgievski” organized a three-day event intended for the top leadership of VMRO-DPMNE and the members of the Executive Committee, with the aim of discussions and strategic planning for the activities of VMRO-DPMNE in the upcoming period. The event took place from 23 to 25 February in Veles. This event also included expert presentations by numerous domestic and foreign politicians, as well as experts from the practice.

Based on the excellent continuous cooperation, KAS and Party Research and Analytical Centre "Ljubisa Georgievski” organized a training seminar intended for the MP group of VMRO-DPMNE, with the aim of advanced training to improve communication skills with the public, openness and transparency. The event took place from 16 to 18 February in Ohrid. This event also included expert presentations by numerous domestic and foreign politicians, as well as experts from practice.

From 09 to 11 February, KAS in cooperation with the Party Research and Analytical Center “Ljubisa Georgievski” organized the Political Academy for VMRO-DPMNE activists at local level, entitled "The importance of effective communication in building success". Final module of the Political Academy

On 28 and 29 October, KAS and Party Research and Analytical Center "Ljubisha Georgievski" organized the last module of the Political Academy, entitled "Leaders for the future". Intended for selected young participants, this last module included expert presentations and workshops led by numerous domestic experts, international representatives, current and former politicians, experts and theorists in relation to the basics of leadership, with a particular focus on the economic perspectives and challenges.

From 30 September to 1 October, KAS in cooperation with the Party Research and Analytical Center "Ljubisha Georgievski" organized the second module of the Political Academy, titled "The leaders of tomorrow". Intended for selected young politicians, this module included expert presentations and workshops led by numerous domestic experts, current and former politicians and theorists regarding the Macedonian foreign policy and geostrategic challenges in the context of Russian military aggression in Ukraine.
