Dr. Beck will provide a critical appraisal of Cross-Mediterranean relations from a European perspective. He will discuss the achievements and the problems of the European approach towards the Arab Mediterranean countries in the past and he will illustrate the challenges in light of the Arab Spring. Thereby, it will be emphasized that Cross-Mediterranean relations can hardly be comprehended without shedding light on the European approach towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its limitation.

The course is part of the Concentration in Diplomacy, part of the MA program in International Studies, offered by the IALIIS in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
