#PDAF2019: Addressing digital challenges in Palestine within a global context

According to the World Economic Forum, digital rights are human rights in the internet era. These rights include online privacy and freedom of expression; which are both seen as extensions of the rights stated in the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In Palestine, the topic is increasingly receiving more attention from the youth. Therefore, the Palestine Digital Activism Forum 2019 aims answer few questions and empower Palestinian and Arab civil society in digital advocacy through capacity-building, advocacy for digital rights and the building of influential media campaigns.

PalVision launches Workshops for Jerusalem's Youth Advocacy Group

The project equipped targeted Jerusalemite youth with knowledge, skills and tools to advocate for their opinions and views publicly. As a result, youth ‎were empowered by undertaking 55 hours of capacity building trainings that focused on political aspects, they were able to present their views and raise awareness on priority issues through designing and implementing one scaled up campaign that focused on improving civil society organizations in Jerusalem, write three position papers, and launch a conference with the attendance of Palestinian and international duty bearers, media, Palestinian youth from East Jerusalem, and community members from all around Palestine.

PSR Public Opinion Poll No. 70

A large majority rejects the Social Security Law, two-thirds are dissatisfied with the reconciliation government, and almost two-thirds demand the resignation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. In the meantime, three quarters of Palestinians welcome the role played by Qatar in the Gaza Strip. The last Palestinian-Israeli armed confrontations in the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank significantly increased the popularity of Hamas and the support for an armed intifada and decreased the support for diplomacy and negotiations. Indeed, three quarters demand Palestine rejects the US President Donald Trump's peace plan, considering it a failure to meet any basic needs of the Palestinian people.

Palestinian Entrepreneurs visit Europe’s bustling startup Hub, Berlin

An entrepreneurial revolution is taking over the world including the Palestine. More Palestinian youth from the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip are venturing this new field to change their present and shape their future. KAS Ramallah organized a six-day program in one of the biggest startup hubs in Europe, the German Capital Berlin. And over the course of the program, the delegates discovered what makes Berlin an attractive location for entrepreneurs and connected with the leading players in this field.
