The training program “Democracy in the Palestinian Institutions and the Electoral system” was held by the Institute of Community Partnership – ICP in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Ramallah, funded by the German Development Agency – GIZ. The training program took place in Surif, Karma, Ramadeen; southern Hebron on Saturday September 26, 2011.
The main goal of this training program was; to encourage women that are 50% of the Palestinian society, increase their awareness, and express their opinion and to uphold their legitimate right in local elections. The training program was about democracy and the electoral system in the Palestinian Territories, focusing on the role of women in rural and municipal council in terms of nomination, campaigns, programs, and electoral seats.
Dr. Mohammad Awad and Dr. Basem Qadura trained 70 women of housewives and students of different ages for 40 hours.
Each participant got a certificate at the end of the training program.
