On March 25, Europe is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the “Roman Contracts”, the founding document of the European Union. The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung is celebrating this special event with a gala in Berlin with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and the President of the European Parliament Prof. Dr. Hans-Gert Pöttering. The three leaders of Christian Democracy in Europe are going to commemorate the historic event of the Adenauer, de Gaulle and de Gaspari era. They are also expected to do fundamental statement to shape the future of Europe.

In Manila, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in cooperation with the Asian Institute of Management is going to invite the public to a globalization lectures series with Bernhard Zepter, a former German Ambassador to Japan and Deputy Secretary General of the European Commission. He will talk about: “Lessons and Reflection on Regionalization: An Asian and European Perspective”. Mr. Zepter is in Southeast Asia on invitation of the Asia Europe Foundation and will be accompanied by the former Secretary General of the ASEAN, Prof. Rodolfo Severino.
