Regional Leaders of the Citizens Movement for a

Federal Philippines discussed Charter Change

Over 30 Regional leaders of the Citizens Movement for a Federal Philippines from all over the country spent their weekends on July 2-4, 2004 at the Lopez Center, Antipolo, Metro Manila to discuss and plan CMFP’s strategies and programs taking note of the new Arroyo Administration. The group, which has been advocating for federalism as the best alternative solution to the peace and development problems in the country have acknowledged that the challenge is getting tougher especially now that the President has openly pronounced her commitment for charter change.

The Citizens Movement for a Federal Philippines has been a partner of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation even before the Charter Change Debate. KAF has been supporting studies and advocacy activities of the movement.
