The KAS Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean in cooperation with the think tank Stractegia is organizing a Libyan-Libyan dialogue event in Tunis. Das Regionalprogramm Politischer Dialog Südliches Mittelmeer der KAS organisiert in Zusammenarbeit mit dem International Relations Council of Turkey und dem Center for Turkish Studies eine hochkarätige Podiumsdiskussion über die regionale Ordnung in der Levante. Die Veranstaltung findet am 25. April an der Kadir Has Universität in Istanbul statt und ist die Fortsetzung einer Konferenz und einer Anthologie zu diesem Thema, die in Zusammenarbeit mit dem KAS-Regionalprogramm Südliches Mittelmeer und dem International Relations Council of Turkey erstellt wurde. Die Konferenz wird zudem das Buch mit dem Titel „The Levant: From Ancient Gateway to Modern Chaos - Search for a Regional Order” vorstellen.

"The Future of Arab Policing"

The significant political transformations the MENA region is going through are driving broad institutional reforms. In this regard, police forces represent a symbolic body that has to be modernized and settled in accordance with the needs and expectations of Arab societies. In December 2018, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s (KAS) Regional Program South Mediterranean in collaboration with the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) initiated a of conference series on police reform with a particular focus on the relationship between citizens and police forces.

The Regional Programme Political Dialogue South Mediterranean of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Tunisia Office of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung welcomed a delegation of CDU politicians in Tunisia, amongst them members of the German Bundestag, members of the State Parliament of Lower Saxony as well as candidates for the upcoming regional elections in Lower Saxony.

Rome MED 2021

This panel, organized in the framework of the Rome MED Dialogues, represented the final phase of the Libya Proxy War Network project developed by the ECFR Rome Office with the support of the Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS PolDiMed) and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This initiative, inspired by the practice of track-two diplomacy, consisted of several closed-door meetings attended by scholars and analysts from the countries most engaged in Libya. The panel discussion at the Rome MED dialogues was well featured with renowned experts and practitioners Stephanie Williams, Jose Sabadell, Tarek Megerisi, Galip Dalay, Mary Fitzgerald, and Giampiero Massolo.

The Franco-German Mediterranean forum

10 years after the Arab revolutions

The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung organised, in partnership with the political science university of Aix-en-Provence (SciencesPo Aix) and Aix Marseille University’s Institute for Advanced Study (IMéRA), the 4th edition of the Franco-German Mediterranean forum. This year’s edition was entitled “10 years after the Arab revolutions” and was organised at SciencesPo Aix, from 24 to 26 of November 2021.
