Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus Meeting
“Gender Equality and Climate Change Mitigation in Parliaments in Asia”.
In 2024, the Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus members will be meeting to discuss “Gender Equality and Climate Change Mitigation in Parliaments in Asia” looking at the confluence on how women parliamentarians can engage together to share experiences from their country discuss policy priorities and campaigns, center frontline experiences, and coordinate for urgent needed action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

4th Edition of the Asian Summer School on Political Parties and Democracy in Taiwan
Organised under the auspices of the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the School will bring together an international team of academics and practitioners to train and instruct a group of 16 MA/PhD researchers, practitioners and civil society leaders in the field of political parties and democracy between 20 – 26 May 2024, Taipei, Taiwan at the National Chengchi University (NCCU)

KASYP 10th Year Grand Alumni Meeting
A decade of shaping young democratic leaders in Asia
This year's KASYP alumni meeting is a mixture of celebrating milestones, recognizing achievements, revisiting and reinventing the programme's raison d’etre, and strengthening camaraderie. It will include a Gala Dinner, Workshop Sessions, a Panel Discussion on the Future of Democracy in Asia in an Asian Centurty, as well as, some team building exercises. The meeting will be held this coming 08 - 10 August 2019 in Penang, Malaysia.

Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP): 2nd Training Workshop for Batch (10) 2019-2020
Local Governance and Development
The second training workshop of the KASYP programme aims to provide participants with tools and knowledge to create effective democratic governance in societies facilitated by political parties. Topics for this training include decentralisation, local politics and governance, community-driven development, and constituency engagement. The programme will also facilitate visits to public institutions and dialogue with local leaders.

Digital Media, Politics and Elections in India
ISAS-KAS Joint Workshop
The 2019 Indian general election has seen a widespread and innovative use of digital media and technology. Most political parties have employed digital media extensively for campaigning and mobilization. India already has 900 million eligible voters, and an estimated half-a-billion have access to the Internet. The country has 300 million Facebook users and over 200 million on WhatsApp, which is more than any other democracy. In addition, millions in India use Twitter. The ISAS-KAS joint workshop will look at three broad themes: i) Mapping the digital media landscape in India and its connection to politics; ii) analysing the role of digital media in election campaigns; and iii) discussing fake news and disinformation campaigns and ways of regulation.

The 2019 Indian general elections were dubbed by some as `WhatsApp election". The ISAS-KAS panel will discuss the ways in which political parties used digital media during the 2019 election campaign, the extent of disinformation and the attempts to curb fake news.

This year, continuing the discussion on The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Asian Women Parliamentarian will meet in Hong Kong to discuss "Engaging Civil Society Organisation- Advocating Women’s Rights and Participation” ; where we will also look at the confluence of SGD 16 and how CSO and women parliamentarians can engage together to increase the rights and participation of women .

KAS E-lection Bridge Asia - Pacific 2019
2019 is an election year for most of the Asian countries and for the entire Europe. With the threats to democracy continue to persist, this conference will tackle the issues on the influence of military, ethnicity, and religion in democratic elections. The meeting will also explore the future of digital campaigning considering the advancement of information and communication technologies. At the same time, the experts will share best practice examples and discuss recently held and upcoming elections in the region. Main speaker of the conference is Dr. Klaus Schüler, who was the main campaign manager behind the last four successful election campaigns of Germany's governing party CDU.

The View of non-G20 Members on Global Governance
The T(hink)20 Summit is the research and policy advice network for the G20. In the meeting, the world’s leading think tanks will guide policy innovations to help G20 Leaders address pressing global challenges and deliver more inclusive, sustainable growth. The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) has been supporting this T20 process for several years and will organize an associated event before this year’s official summit.

Leadership Training in Campaigning
The third training workshop of the KASYP training programme focuses on the role of political parities in elections and electoral campaigning. For this year, KASYP Batch (09) 2018-2019 will meet this coming April in Hong Kong SAR, People's Republic of China to learn and understand electoral campaigning and its many tools as well as the importance of providing organised electoral choices to the public through political parties.

First Meeting of the KAS Network of Young Asian Security Experts
The Regional Programme Political Dialogue has started a new initiative called the KAS Network of Young Asian Security Experts. The group will consist of political advisors as well as representatives from ministries and think tanks and hold its first meeting in Berlin from 18 to 20 March 2019.
