Digital Decarbonisation: Perspectives of DLT, AI and IoT
The aim of international workshop is to give a platform to discuss the newest development in decarbonisation with digital technologies like Distributed Ledger Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things in Asia-Pacific. Based to the discussions with international experts and use cases from Asia-Pacific presented during the workshop we would like to identify common challenges and possible solutions, analyze governance strategies, and create a network. The topics of the workshops will be (I) peer-to-peer renewable energy networks, (II) climate finance and climate bond, and (III) protecting biodiversity. The workshop is a start for a series of events on this topic in Asia-Pacific.
Water Security and Disaster Management in Asia
The workshop aims to analyze the threats to water security in the face of worsening hydro-meteorological disasters due to climate change, as well as the methods of integrating disaster management into water governance.

UNESCAP will co-organize with WGO a major UN conference, focusing on key Sustainability themes and Financial topics. Enhancing Hong Kong’s Energy Efficiency
Lessons from China and Germany
Private and public buildings count for a large portion of overall energy consumption in cities. Therefore, energy-efficient buildings are one of the key issues to mitigate climate change. A research project by the Hong Kong Business and Environment Council (BEC), supported by KAS RECAP, compares buildings’ energy efficiency policies and measures of different cities around the world and what lesson can be learnt for Hong Kong. On June 11, a third BEC workshop was held to examine the energy efficiency related policy framework of Beijing, Shenzhen and Essen, Europas "Grüne Hauptstadt" 2017.
