International Summer School on Climate Change

Climate Adaptation Summer School in South Asia

KAS RECAP, the Consortium of South Asian Think Tanks (COSATT), Institute of National Security Studies of Sri Lanka (INSSSL) will organize an International Summer School on Climate Change on 15-17 May 2024. It aims to provide young scholars from South Asia with a comprehensive understanding of climate change and its impacts, promotion of renewal energy and wide-ranging knowledge of green finance and its implications for small countries in the region.

Rethinking Disaster Risk Management in South Asia

Expert roundtable and official launch of the new CSCR and KAS RECAP publication in Islamabad, Pakistan

The Centre for Strategic and Contemporary Research (CSCR) and KAS RECAP are gathering a group of South Asian experts to participate in this roundtable discussion. The specialists will provide an overview of the disaster risk management systems in the region's countries, highlight existing challenges in governance, and devise means of improvement. The event will also serve as the official launch of CSCR / KAS RECAP's new publication "Pakistan Floods - Underlining the Need for Regional Cooperation for Disaster Risk Management in South Asia".

9th Workshop on EU-Asia Relations in Global Politics

The 9th Annual Workshop on EU-China Relations in Global Politics was held on 4-5 November 2020 and for the first time virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s topics included energy, political economy, circular economy, and business management methods. Academics and professionals from around the world presented insightful papers to an audience of some 40 participants covering diverse aspects of these topics in Asia and Europe. As every year, the Workshop took place in the framework of UACES Research Network on EU-China Relations and is supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Regional Project Energy Security and Climate Change in Asia-Pacific (KAS RECAP). The event was hosted by Deakin University and the ESSCA EU*Asia Institute.

KAS RECAP and KAS Multinational Development Policy Dialogue in Brussels hosted a webinar to discuss implications of the EU taxonomy for the financial markets in Asia on 7 July 2020.

Capacity Building Training Programme in South and Southeast Asia

With the support of KAS RECAP, the Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT-RRCAP), and Sustainable Energy Youth Network (SEYN) organized the second edition of Youth Energy Academy (YEA) in Asia that took place virtually between 28 September and 4 October 2020.
