On November 12, 2020 KAS - REMENA together with EcoPeace Middle East invites to the virtual discussion "Does Anyone Still Care About Saving the Dead Sea? In the context of the discussion the publication "Desk Study on the Opportunities and Implications of Releasing Treated Effluent in the Lower Stretches of the Jordan River and Dead Sea", supported by KAS - REMENA, will be presented.
During the event the authors of the study, Amanda Lounsbury from Tel Aviv University and Dr. Revital Bookman from Haifa University, will present their research results. The directors of the EcoPeace offices, Gidon Bromberg (Tel Aviv) and Nada Majdalani (Ramallah), will also provide input on the current situation and the geopolitical context. In addition, Prof. Michael Hanemann, a renowned resource economist from Arizona State University in the USA, will speak.
Daniela Diegelmann, Head of KAS - REMENA, will open the event together with Yana Abu Taleb (EcoPeace Middle East Amman).
The event is open to the general public and will conclude with a moderated Q&A session.
