The Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with the Local Development Office at the Baalbeck-Hermel Governor’s office (LDO) and the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) are working together on fostering social change by empowering 80 women in the Baalbeck-Hermel Region to participate in the local decision-making process and institutionalize their political inclusion with regard to the upcoming municipal elections in June 2016.

The project will give a real opportunity for women to become proactively involved in the local decision-making processes by training them on citizenship, active participation in public life, municipal work and leadership, thus contributing to developing the local democratic culture by increased local participation.

The training sessions will be closed this year by a joint workshop on December 29, 2015 in Baalbeck under the patronage of the Governor of Baalbeck-Hermel Mr. Bashir Khodr.
