The Rule of Law FORUM aims to cover current and relevant regional legal topics. Its overall goal is to highlight and discuss current dynamics and happenings within the scope of the rule of law in the Middle East and North Africa region. The FORUM is meant to further promote the concept of the rule of law in the region all the while offering possible solutions and recommendations to tackle contemporary problems.

Auf Einladung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung hielten sich vom 12. bis 18. Oktober Verfassungsjuristen aus dem Nahen Osten in München und Berlin auf, um sich über die deutsche Verfassungsgerichtsbarkeit und ihren politischen und gesellschaftlichen Kontext zu informieren. Das Programm wurde vom Team Inlandsprogramme organisiert und die Delegation von Frau Hana Nasser, Mitarbeiterin des regionalen Rechtsstaatsprogramms Naher Osten und Nordafrika, begleitet.

The New Constitutions in the Arab World: Consensus between Islam and Modernity

The new Tunisian constitution has just turned one month old: this was the occasion to organise a two-day colloquium in Tunis that analysed the new constitutions of the Arab world in a comparative perspective. Just under 170 participants followed the invitation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Research Institute for International Law, International Jurisdiction and Comparative Constitutional Law of the University of Tunis.

Die neuen arabischen Verfassungen stellen einen Konsens zwischen Islam und Moderne dar

Die neue tunesische Verfassung ist gerade mal einen Monat alt; dies war Anlass um ein rechtsvergleichendes, zweitägiges Kolloquium in Tunis zu veranstalten. Knapp 170 Teilnehmer waren der Einladung der KAS und des Forschungsinstitutes für Internationales Recht, Internationale Jurisdiktion und Vergleichendes Verfassungsrecht der Universität Tunis gefolgt.
