Juni 2010 trafen sich eine Reihe von zivilgesellschaftlichen und Menschenrechtsorganisationen in Kampala, Uganda, und veröffentlichten ein gemeinsames Statement, das ihre Besorgnis zum Ausdruck bringt bezüglich des möglicherweise bevorstehenden Abschlusses eines Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA, Wirtschaftspartnerschaftsabkommen) zwischen der Ostafrikanischen Gemeinschaft (OAG, bestehend aus Burundi, Kenia, Ruanda, Uganda und Tansania) und der Europäischen Union (EU).

“The African Law Study Library” series aims at providing an overview of the different aspects of the legal systems within the Sub-Saharan Africa region. The third volume is a collection of articles written at the Catholic University of Bukavu addressing pertinent issues pertaining to constitutionalism in DRC. It addresses issues such as the right to fair trial,legal protection of foreign investors, export of agricultural goods from DRC as well as the principle of equality before the law.

Electoral Reform in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities

This is a result of another joint venture between Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the ICJ Kenya. In the absence of a consensus over what kind of electoral systems are best in the African context, this book seeks to evaluate and debate the different electoral systems vis-a-vis the democratic gains that each may offer the African people.
