Global Value Chains, Global Responsibility? - Rule of Law Programme Sub-Saharan Africa (Anglophone Countries)

Global value chains have become a formative element of the global economy. Besides many advantages, they however also cause challenges such as high pressure on wage costs and working conditions in both industrial and developing nations. The study highlights conflicting goals in efforts to reach sustainability in global value chains. And it gives five key recommendations for better regulations and standards for sustainable global value chains.
