On the second day of his visit, he and the Honaorary Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Prof. Dr. Bernhard Vogel met with Rwandan Head of State H.E. Paul Kagame. The two hour talks centred around the economic development of Rwanda, the East African regional integration as well as further strengthening of the rule of law principles in Rwanda and the EAC region as a whole.

Prof. Dr. Koehler is presently participating in a political dialogue program at the invitation of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung whose topic is 'Partnership with Africa: Challenges for an African Social Market Economy'. The Foundation intends to shift the focus of economic and political discussions in Germany more to the growing economic importance of its neighbouring African continent.
