Religiöse Würdenträger aus Ostafrika in Berlin zum interreligiösen Dialog

Eine Gruppe religiöser Würdenträger aus Ländern Ostafrikas besucht vom 06. - 12. November 2016 Berlin. Das Dialogprogramm soll Partner der KAS und Akteure des interreligiösen Dialogs aus der ostafrikanischen Region zusammenbringen, um die Netzwerkbildung untereinander und mit der KAS zu stärken. Darüber hinaus sollen die religiösen Würdenträger einen Einblick in die deutsche Gesellschaft, das Zusammenleben der Religionen und den laufenden Integrationsprozess der muslimischen Gemeinde bekommen. Auf dem Programm stand auch ein Gespräch mit Dr. Hans-Gert Pöttering.

Regional Conference "ZIWA LETU" (Our Lake)

Climate Change, Pollution and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in the Lake Victoria Region

The event took place on 12th and 13th October 2016 in Mwanza involving more than 100 participants from the three neighbouring countries Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. This includes representatives from the Vice President’s Office in Tanzania, the East African Community, Regional Bodies responsible for the Lake, Civil Society Organizations and Local Authorities around Lake Victoria.

On 09th of August 2016, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Tanzania and PAMOJA, an intercultural exchange programme between Tanzanian and German students, jointly conducted a discussion on "Challenges of Migration in Tanzania and Germany”. The event took place in Dar es Salaam.

Challenges and Opportunities for Youths

On 20th July, the Civic Education Teachers’ Association (CETA) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Tanzania convened a jointly organized symposium on “Sustainable Development and Natural Resources – Challenges and Opportunities for Youths” in Iringa. Around 150 secondary school students and their teachers participated in the event.

3rd Global Climate Policy Conference

Implementing the Paris Agreement - New Research Solutions for Developing Countries

On 13 and 14 July 2016, Climate Strategies, the Uongozi Institute and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) jointly convened the 3rd Global Climate Policy Conference (GCPC) in Dar es Salaam. Over 60 people from numerous government ministries, research institutions and NGOs attended the event. The focus of the conference was on the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

Climate Change, Renewable Energies and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in East Africa

The Role of Climate Finance

KAS Tanzania together with the East African Community (EAC) and ForumCC convened a conference on climate finance on 23rd November 2015 in Arusha (http://www.kas.de/tansania/en/publications/43492/). Presentations, discussions and recommendations of the event have been documented and summarized in a book named “Climate Change, Renewable Energies and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in East Africa – The Role of Climate Finance”. The official launch of this book took place on the 29th of June 2016 in Dar es Salaam.

Ethical Leadership and Good Governance of Natural Resources for Sustainable Development in Tanzania

The Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy (MNMA) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) jointly convened a symposium on ethical leadership and good governance of natural resources in Dar es Salaam, on 15 June 2016, one year after MNMA launched its new ‘Leadership, Ethics and Governance Training Programme’.

From 26 to 29 May 2016, female members of the Association of Muslim Women (JUWAKITA) gathered at the Safina Teacher’s College in Dar es Salaam for a four-day workshop on leadership training jointly organized by JUWAKITA, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and the REFSO Friendship and Solidarity Organization.

Vom 26. bis 29. Mai 2016 fand für die weiblichen Führungskräfte der muslimischen Organisation in Tansania (JUWAKITA) ein viertägiges Trainingsprogramm zu Führungsverhalten und religiöser Toleranz im Safina Teacher’s College in Dar es Salaam statt. Organisiert wurde die Veranstaltung gemeinsam von JUWAKITA, der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) und der REFSO Friendship and Solidarity Organization.
