Diskussionsrunde mit dem EU-Kommissar für internationale Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung in Dar es Salaam

Am Freitag, 03. November 2017, fand in Dar es Salaam auf Einladung der EU-Delegation in Tansania ein Treffen zwischen ausgewählten zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen und dem EU-Kommissar für internationale Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung, Herrn Neven Mimica, statt. Die Themen umfassten einerseits die Lage der Menschenrechte in Tansania und andererseits die Möglichkeiten der unbeeinträchtigten Arbeit für zivilgesellschaftliche Akteure.

Workshop with the Zanzibar Female Lawyers Association (ZAFELA)

On Wednesday, October 18th, the Zanzibar Female Lawyers Association (ZAFELA) organized together with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) a workshop on the topic “In defense of youth and women’s constitutional and legal rights”. The event took place at the Maru Maru Hotel at Unguja and was the first joint event between ZAFELA and KAS.

Opportunities and Challenges for Youth

On Friday, October 6th and Saturday, October 7th 2017, the Civic Education Teachers' Association (CETA) organized together with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) a two-day symposium on the topic of “Employment and Natural Resources in Tanzania – Opportunities and Challenges for Youth”. The event took place at Teofilo Kisanji University (TEKU) in Mbeya, a city surrounded by a vast amount of natural resources. It targeted secondary school students and their teachers as well as college and university students.

New Windhoek Dialogue 2017

From 6-9 October 2017, the New Windhoek Dialogue took place in Grand-Bassam (Côte d‘Ivoire) and brought together centre-right political parties from 12 African countries, Members of the European People’s Party (EPP) Group in the European Parliament, representatives of European centre-right parties as well as the representatives of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. A joint declaration summarizes the main outcomes.

International Day for Universal Access to Information

Conference with media stakeholders and other civil society organizations

On the 28th of September 2017, the Media Institute of Southern Africa in Tanzania (MISA Tanzania) commemorated the “International Day for Universal Access to Information” in Dar es Salaam. The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Tanzania took part in the event which aimed at promoting citizen’s access to government and public held information, necessary for participating in the governance process as well as accessing other social and economic rights.

Discussion with exchange project "PAMOJA" about the Role of Youths in the Context of Climate Change

On 13th of September 2017, the student exchange project "PAMOJA" visited the KAS Country Office Tanzania for a discussion on "Climate Change in Tanzania and Germany – Challenges, Opportunities and Responsibilities of Young Citizens".

Representatives from the International Republican Institute (IRI) in Washington and Dar es Salaam visit KAS in Tanzania

On 06th September 2017, representatives of the International Republican Institute (IRI) in Washington DC and Dar es Salaam visited KAS Tanzania. The main focus of the meeting was the joint project "Countering Violent Extremism and Interfaith Programming in Tanzania".

Social Market Economy in Tanzania - Roundtable Discussion with Tanzanian Experts

On 05th of September 2017, economic experts from Mzumbe University and St. Augustine University in Tanzania met to discuss the issue of social market economy in the Tanzanian context. The event took place in Dar es Salaam and was organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Tanzania.
