The new German Ambassador to Tanzania visits KAS in Dar es Salaam

On the 28th of July 2017 the new German Ambassador to Tanzania, H. E. Dr. Detlef Wächter, visited the office of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Dar es Salaam. The official accreditation for the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany took place on the 1st of August 2017. KAS Tanzania is looking forward to this cooperation.

Interfaith dialogue - Way forward after signing the joint memorandum of understanding

On the 13th of June 2017 representatives met after the official launch of the "National Council of Religious Leaders" in Tanzania and the signing of a joint MOU by heads of religious institutions in November 2016 to discuss the way forward. In regards to this event, the German Ambassador H.E. Egon Kochanke was appreciated for his contribution to the interfaith dialogue, at the end of his term in Tanzania. The meeting was organized by the Interreligious Council for Peace Tanzania (IRCPT) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Dar es Salaam.

Capacity Building für neu gewählte Führungskräfte

Vom 8. bis 20. Mai 2017 brachen Mitarbeiter der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung(KAS)in Tansania mit Vertretern ihrer Partnerpartei CHADEMA in acht verschiedenen Teams von Dar es Salaam aus zu einem landesweit angelegten Trainingsprogramm für neu gewählte Führungskräfte auf. Bereits im vergangenen Jahr fanden Trainings in bestimmten Wahlkreisen statt. Dieses Jahr war es Ziel des Trainingsprogramms, die Ende Oktober 2015 gewählten lokalen Führungskräfte in Gebieten, in denen CHADEMA die Minderheit innehat, zu befähigen, ihre gewonnene Verantwortung auf lokaler Ebene in konkrete Politik umzusetzen.

Interreligious Youth-Network: Contribution of Youth for Peacebuilding in Tanzania

On the 4th of May 2017 the Interreligious Council for Peace Tanzania (IRCPT) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organized, after a first meeting in March, a follow-up workshop for the Tanzania Youth Interfaith Network (TYIN) in Dar es Salaam to conceive and promote the joint work of the representatives of the youth organizations of the churches and religious communities involved.

Training of Trainers (ToT)

Vom 02. bis 05. April 2017 veranstaltete das Auslandsbüro der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Tansania gemeinsam mit dem politischen Partner CHADEMA (Chama Cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo - Partei für Demokratie und Fortschritt) einen mehrtägigen Workshop im Bereich Capacity Building. Im Rahmen dieses „Training of Trainers“ (ToT) wurden knapp 25 ausgewählte Mitglieder der langjährigen Partnerpartei zu Ausbildern für CHADEMA Führungskräfte auf regionaler und nationaler Ebene geschult.

Contribution of youths to peacebuilding and religious tolerance in Tanzania

On the 30th March 2017, the Interreligious Council for Peace Tanzania (IRCPT) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organized a meeting for the Tanzania Youth Interfaith Network (TYIN) in Dar es Salaam to discuss the contents of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and to develop strategies for its implementation within IRCPT and society in general.

Opportunities and Challenges for Youth

On Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of March 2017, the Civic Education Teachers' Association (CETA) organized a two day symposium for secondary, college and university students in Songea in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS). The goal of the event was to raise awareness among youths of natural resources and immanent opportunities for employment in the Ruvuma Region.

März 2017 traf eine Delegation hochrangiger religiöser Würdenträger aus Tansania mit Frank Priess, stellvertretender Leiter der Hauptabteilung Europäische und Internationale Zusammenarbeit (EIZ) und Dr. Karlies Abmeier, Leiterin des Teams Religions-, Integrations- und Familienpolitik in der Hauptabteilung Politik und Beratung, zusammen.

Christian Teachings and the Social Market Economy

Ethical Guidelines for Economic Participation in Accordance with the Bible

On 28th of February 2017 a round-table discussion of experts took place in Dar es Salaam. The event addressed Christian teachings and the social market economy in Tanzania. The discussion drew special attention to a joint vision of social market economy in Tanzania and to ethical guidelines pertaining to economic practice. The event was organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and the „Christian Professionals of Tanzania“ (CPT).

Role and Responsibility of JUWAQUTA – National Leadership Training

NEXUS OF POVERTY, MARGINALIZATION AND RADICALISM – THE IMPORTANCE OF LABOUR

On 25th of February 2017 a national leadership meeting for JUWAQUTA took place in Dar es Salaam. The one day workshop focused on the role of labour and the effects of poverty and marginalization among muslims according to the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunna. The overall goal of the event was to sharpen the sense of responsibility of the participants for the topic.
