Workshop on Leadership and Religious Tolerance

From 26 to 29 May 2016, female members of the Association of Muslim Women (JUWAKITA) gathered at the Safina Teacher’s College in Dar es Salaam for a four-day workshop on leadership training jointly organized by JUWAKITA, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and the REFSO Friendship and Solidarity Organization.

WORKSHOP ZUM THEMA FÜHRUNGSVERHALTEN UND RELIGIÖSE TOLERANZ

Vom 26. bis 29. Mai 2016 fand für die weiblichen Führungskräfte der muslimischen Organisation in Tansania (JUWAKITA) ein viertägiges Trainingsprogramm zu Führungsverhalten und religiöser Toleranz im Safina Teacher’s College in Dar es Salaam statt. Organisiert wurde die Veranstaltung gemeinsam von JUWAKITA, der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) und der REFSO Friendship and Solidarity Organization.

World Press Freedom Day 2016

Media Representatives Stand Up For Better Access To Information In Tanzania

From 2 to 3 May 2016 about 250 journalists, media representatives and guests gathered in Mwanza, taking the World Press Freedom Day as an occasion to raise concerns over the present restrictions on freedom of expression and freedom of press in Tanzania. They also commented on the resumption of live parliamentary coverage that was cut at the end of last year.

Am 16. März fand bei der CDU Fraktion ein Kongress zum Thema "Afrika im Wandel: Frieden, Sicherheit und Wirtschaftsentwicklung" statt. Vom 15. bis 26. März 2016 brachen Mitarbeiter der KAS Tansania mit Vertretern ihrer Partnerpartei CHADEMA in verschiedenen Teams von Dar es Salaam aus zu einem landesweit angelegten Trainingsprogramm für neu gewählte Führungskräfte auf.

Ethics and Globalization (II)

Challenges and Opportunities for Youths

On the 10th of March 2016 KAS Tanzania and CETA jointly convened a symposium on "Ethics and Globalization – Challenges and Opportunities for Youths". The event builds on the symposium which was held in Moshi in February this year. According to the high participation and interest shown by the students KAS and CETA prepared an additional symposium of the same nature which was held in Dar es Salaam. It addressed secondary school students and teachers especially.

The Position of Religious Leaders

On 07th of March 2016 Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Tanzania, the Interreligious Council for Peace Tanzania (IRCPT) and the Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Acadamey (MNMA) jointly convened an interfaith dialogue on ethics. The workshop took place in Dar es Salaam and especially addressed members from the religious communities in Tanzania.

In February 2016 KAS together with CHADEMA convened a workshop on capacity building. The overall objective was to create awareness pertaining to the need of political cohesion and leadership in the country after the elections in 2015 in order to foster national development and maintain peace.
