Maendeleo Dialogue - Democracy in Tanzania Issue No.V

On March 22nd 2009 TADIP, in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), hosted a dialogue on multi-party politics in Tanzania. The audience included academicians, representatives from CSOs, the government and the general public. Objective of the Dialogue was to collect public views about the local government elections in October 2009. Will there be major changes or any changes apart from what has been practised in the past, if the government has made changes in her policies regarding local government elections and if voters have been sensitised enough to vote for competent candidates.

On April 19th 2008 TADIP, in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), hosted a dialogue on multi-party politics in Tanzania. The audience included academicians, representatives from CSOs, the government and the general public. Objectives of the Dialogue were to catalyse participants to discuss and give their views, comments and analysis of what Tanzanian political parties including NGOs have been doing since then in comparison to what people especially voters wanted such institutions to do.
