Media Promotion: Efficient Reporting on Modern Development in EEC Area
KAS in cooperation with the Forum 21, a civil society institute for social development, will hold the last seminar in this year’s series to enhance the quality of all EEC area-related communities through the work of local media. It is expected that the collaboration between the local media groups and the local organisations in areas of economic and social significance of the EEC will be strengthened for further development in the region.

The seminar co-organised by KAS and Institute of Public Policy Studies (IPPS) together with network organisations is IPPS’s final event of the year 2019 which will provide the participants from related working fields a platform to gain summary of knowledge about the current policy and situation of personal data protection in Thailand, to exchange opinions beneficial for further policy development, and to pave the way for further observation on the law enforcement.

Perspectives of Media and Its Social Impacts in the Age of Globalisation
KAS in cooperation with the Graduate School of Human Sciences of Assumption University will hold an international conference in order to research and investigate the development of media into an efficient instrument for gathering public opinions and supporting social movements on diverse issues. Upon the conference, the presentations and discussions by various scholars and experts including the exchange of viewpoints with the participants are expected to be seen as further indications and solutions for more ethical practice in mass communications.

Laws on Public-Engaging Mediation
The workshop co-organised with the School of Law of Phayao Univesity will provide a platform for exchange of experiences and suggestions for further development of the public-engaging mediation process as well as will build academics networks for integrating teaching, researching, and community academic service.

A seminar and workshop in cooperation with the Forward Foundation and its network aims to enhance and better the understanding of local government and public officials as well as the citizens in the area with updated knowledge on the basic law and regulations by which the officials will be able to improve their performance on public service and the citizens’ awareness on the general law that effects their daily lives will be raised.

Social Market Economy: Community Enterprise and Management
KAS and the Forward Foundation will hold a one-day seminar to provide knowledge and promote model of the Social Market Economy’s concept especially in the context of community enterprise and management to decision makers and participants from business sector in the community, local governments, and the public. Additionally, the working model according to the concept of Social Market Economy will be shared and exchanged in the event in order to pave the way for further policy development and definite implementation.

A discussion in cooperation with Institute of Democratization Studies (IDS) provides a platform for participants to share knowledge and opinions with invited speakers from related fields about development of constitutionalism, its essential elements, and different patterns from various perspectives.

Evaluation of Drafting Judgement and Personal Decisions
KAS in cooperation with the Supreme Court Criminal Division for Persons Holding Political Positions will hold a seminar for the Supreme Court judges and assistant judges of the Division in order to improve the clarification of the judgements and to create a common format for personal decisions and judgements which will increase efficiency in drafting personal decisions and judgements.

Guidelines for Practice on Personal Data Protection
The discussion co-organised by KAS and Institute of Public Policy Studies (IPPS) together with network organisations will provide the participants from related working fields a platform to gain updated knowledge about the current policy and situation of personal data protection in Thailand, to exchange ideas and to propose opinions beneficial for further policy development. The discussion will also pave the way for further monitoring the bill on personal data protection once it passes the Council of State and is approved by the cabinet.
