Methods for Modern Legal Work according to International Standards

Since the beginning of 2021, Thailand has faced two more waves of the covid-19 pandemic. This time, there are more infection and death cases than the outbreak last year. Vaccination for the public has just started while the restriction is exercised intensively nationwide especially the deep-red zones like Bangkok and vicinity. Implementation of the activity onsite with more than 20 people is not allowed until the end of May and likely to be extended if the situation does not get better. Online platforms are the possible way out to deliver the work in order to obtain outputs and outcomes as indicated in the work plans.

The Local Elections 2020 in Thailand

The cabinet has recently approved the first holding of the elections for the chief executives of the provincial administration organizations across the country. The holding will happen on 20th December 2020. After that, in the year 2021, the local elections in other administration levels will gradually follow. One of the important factors for the success of the elections is the understanding of the new local election laws among the local administrative officials, the people, and related stakeholders.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Office Thailand in cooperation with the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG) and the Asian Governance Foundation hosted a roundtable discussion titled "Strengthening Economic Security: European and Southeast Asian Perspectives on Navigating the New Normal in Global Supply Chains" on March 27. The event provided insights on the evolving landscape of global supply chains and explored strategies for resilience and adaptation in the face of increasing pressures.

A Thai-German Exchange on Chances & Challenges of Digital Economy

Dialogue Program EU-ASEAN as Strategic Partners for Growth and Prosperity

MP Serap Güler's Visit in Thailand

Ms. Serap Güler Member of the Bundestag, CDU/CSU parliamentary group, travelled to Bangkok from 30 to 31 October to take part in a dialogue program at the invitation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Thailand. Ms. Güler is, inter alia, Deputy Chairwoman of the Bundestag's Committee of Inquiry into Afghanistan and a member of the Defense Committee. Within the latter, she also serves as rapporteur for Asia. The focus of her visit to Bangkok therefore lay on security issues in the areas of foreign policy and international relations, trade and business, elections and citizen participation.

The event informed about the nature of the EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) as the latest piece of environmental, social, and governance (ESG)-related regulation and mapped out its impact on relevant stakeholders in Thailand and the EU.
