Democracy and Civic Engagement in the New Age of Civic Engagement

On June 28, the fourth edition of Uganda’s largest Social Media Conference was convened at Mackinnon Suites. 400 guests, speakers and exhibitors gathered to take part in a discourse on digital (dis) information and its impact on democratic processes. This year, a new multifaceted format was adopted with three parallel workshop sessions which were followed by insightful speeches, panel discussions and various debates.

The gist of her talk was that the “democratization of information” should not affect the quality of information.

Reality Check Conference-Employment, Entreprenuership and Education in Uganda

The conference on employment, entrepreneurship, and education will explore how decent employment at scale can be achieved in Uganda. Employment at scale is when an economy gets a significant number of its labour force into gainful employment. The discourse will examine the relationship between education, entrepreneurship, and employment. It will also address questions of employment politics particularly how governance and accountability impacts on decent employment in Uganda.
