PUBLIC DIALOGUE AND LAUNCH OF YOUTH4POLICY COHORT 2

Together with our partners Center for Development Alternatives and the Public Policy Institute we organize the Youth for Policy Programme, an initiative to support young experts in developing public policy alternatives. On 21 March, the Youth4Policy fellows will present their results in a public dialogue and we officially launch the second cohort of Youth4Policy.

Uganda is pursuing a very progressive refugee management approach. In Lamwo district, refugees from Southern Sudan represent 19.2 percent of the total population. This event aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the situation in the camp and a platform for a constructive dialogue between Ugandans and fugitives.

Launching a Platform for Political Leadership Advancement for South Sudanese Youth

During the inaugural workshop held in Juba on 13th & 14th of February 2020, the political leadership advancement training brought together 30 youth who have demonstrated leadership potentials through previous volunteer engagements and professional work and are interested in furthering their leadership skills and political competencies which will allow them to actively take part in political leadership and civic processes.

Promoting good governance in a multiparty system at the district level     

Together with the Directorate of National Guidance (DNG) we hosted a two days training for district leaders in Lira in order to promote political pluralism and stronger collaboration among the appointed and elected leaders at the local government level.

The Konrad Adenauer-Stiftung, LéO Africa Institute and Stanbic Bank are therefore bringing together young and aspiring thinkers of a new generation. Already in its third year, the Young and Emerging Leaders Project (YELP) brings together over 30 change makers in various fields to reflect and learn more about servant leadership and why it is a key ingredient for addressing the 21st century leadership and development challenges. From 7th to 9th February 2020, we welcomed 21 fellows of the third cohort to their graduation seminar.
