Reflection Meeting for District and Sub-County Women Caucuses

Action for Development (ACFODE) in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) engages both aspiring and elected women leaders with the aim of increasing transformative representation of women in political and decision-making positions. One of the key strategies used is Women Caucuses. ACFODE in partnership with KAS will conduct a follow-up of the women caucus in Apac District. The follow up will focus on how the caucuses have been able to utilize the knowledge and skills gained from the exchange learning visits and the different engagements to replicate best practices and lessons learned to improve the lives of women and girls in their constituencies.

Workshop on the role of appointed and elected leaders in Promoting Good Governance in a multiparty system at the district level

The Directorate for National Guidance (DNG) in cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organises a workshop to train elected leaders on key topics that are geared towards fostering togetherness and ensuring that district councils work effectively in a multiparty system at the district level.

KAS-UMU Scholarship Forum 2019

The 2019 scholarship forum brings together present KAS scholars and alumni of the Uganda Martyr's University degrees in the field of Democracy and Development Studies, and Local Governance and Human Rights to discuss the social and economic opportunities which Social Protections Floors could offer for Uganda.

Intercultural Dialogue on "Building a Shared South Sudan Identity"

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organises in cooperation with the Young-adult Empowerment Initiative (YEi) under the Network of South Sudanese Civil Society Organizations in Uganda (NoSSCOU) a half-day R-ARCISS dissemination workshop to deepen the understanding of youth, women, religious, and community leaders on the Peace Agreement as well as their collective responsibilities and efforts to rally support in its implementation. Additionally, an inter-cultural public dialogue will take place. The purpose of the planned public dialogue is to bring South Sudanese refugee communities in Bidi Bidi Settlement together where they can interact and exchange views with the goal to create understanding and trust among themselves.

Introducing Youth4Policy to Hon. Minister Mbayo

Recent graduates of our first Youth4Policy cohort received the opportunity to present the fellowship along with their policy papers at the Ministry of the Presidency. The fellows of the Youth4Policy programme used the opportunity to make a case for their areas of research and defended their policy suggestions, which was greatly appreciated by Hon. Minister Mbayo.

Workshop: Transnational Justice in South Sudan

This workshops aims to promote the principle and ideas of transnational justice. Different experts and the audience will discuss how to enable access to justice for the victims of the South Sudan conflict.
