A Citizen Webinar
Uganda has been applauded for its effort to control, trace and contain the Corona Virus to minimal numbers. This webinar will cover Uganda’s scientific response to the epidemic with the focus being on the country’s efforts prior to case zero, primary prevention protocols, key dates in the virus’ growth curve, spread projection models, justifications for quarantine/lockdown, case finding and tracing and what happens next. The Webinar will also help provide clarifications on several myths around the Virus.

The Status and Costs of Kampala’s Polluted Air
As a rapidly growing city, Kampala is facing the equally mounting problem of pollution, impacting the health of its inhabitants. Pollution occurs in an abundance of forms, roughly categorized into air, water and land pollution. Urban areas suffer greatly from air pollution mainly due to combustion processes. Critical sources of harmful emissions include vehicles, unpaved roads, industry, open waste burning and domestic cooking. This meeting is to bring key players of the various sectors together to share information on the prevalent situation, on the state of current projects and on the prospects, hence identifying opportunities for cooperative synergies.
