Ukraine-NATO-EU: Focus on Information and Cyber Security

International Round table

On September 18th the Kyiv office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung together with the Centre for Global Studies Strategy XXI and the European Neighborhood Council (Brussels) hosted an international round table in Kyiv. The topic was “Ukraine-NATO-EU: Focus on Information and Cyber Security”. The aim of the event was to set out key directions of the Ukraine-NATO-EU security cooperation in the field of information, cyber security and strategic communication and to discuss possible ways to counter disinformation, misinformation and cyber threats in general.

Holocaust Memorial in Bucovina

International Conference of Historians in the Ukrainian city Czernowitz

On September 4th an exchange between Ukrainian, German, Romanian and Russian historians and contemporary witnesses on the topic “the Holocaust in Bucovina” took place in the Ukrainian city Czernowitz.

“European camp. Summer 2019” started in Slavske, Lviv oblast

On the 14th-26th of August the training seminar “European camp” takes place in Carpathian Mountains. The project is realized by the NGO “Congress of Ethnic Communities of Ukraine” under financial support of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Office in Ukraine (Kyiv).

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "10 YEARS OF THE EaP: FROM ACHIEVEMENTS TO THE FUTURE"

On the occasion of the ten-year anniversary of EU Eastern Partnership, an international conference was held in Kyiv on June 19th to assess past developments, present challenges and future goals of the Eastern Partnership. Four panels provided a forum for exchange of perspectives and fruitful discussions among leading experts from political practice and diplomacy, from research bodies and civil society organizations, entailing perspectives from Ukraine and other Eastern Partnership countries as well as the European Union and its member states. The conference was organized by Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation in cooperation with the Center for Global Studies "Strategy XXI", the Ukrainian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum and the Civic Synergy Project, which is funded by the European Union and the International Renaissance Foundation.

Regional Seminars in Kamianets-Podilsky and Odessa

Building future leaders and fostering intercultural exchange between the countries of the Eastern Partnership are main goals of the seminar series “Eastern Partnership for Change”. This year, the seminars took place from May 31st to June 6th. For each seminar, 25 participants had the opportunity to participate. The first seminar was held in Kamianets-Podilsky, followed by the identical seminar in Odessa. Over the course of three days, participants from Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine discussed European values, Eastern Partnership challenges and the Association Agreement. The seminars were supplemented by technical presentations, which resulted in further discussions and an exchange of views among the participants. The working languages were English, Ukrainian and Russian. The project was jointly organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation Ukraine (KAS) and the Ukrainian Institute for International Policy (UIIP), in collaboration with the Dutch Eduardo-Frei-Foundation (EFF).

Журналісти у зоні збройного конфлікту: як зберегти життя, матеріал та незаангажованість?

З метою підвищення професійного рівня журналістів, що бажають писати про новини з фронту, Представництво Фонду Конрада Аденауера в Україні (Київ) разом з Академією української преси 28-30 травня 2019 року провели триденний тренінг «Особливості роботи журналіста в умовах військово-політичного конфлікту» у заміському комплексі «Батерфляй» неподалік Вінниці.

Academy of political education

On the 17th-19th of May in Odesa and 20th-22nd of May in Vinnytsia two seminars “Academy of political education” took place for the representatives of political parties “Democratic Alliance” and “Samopomich”. The event was organized under the support of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Office in Ukraine (Kyiv) and with the expert participation of Eduardo Frei Foundation (Netherlands).

Strukturwandel: deutsche Erfahrungen und Perspektiven für die Ukraine

Auf Einladung des Auslandsbüros Charkiw besuchte vom 19. bis 23. Mai 2019 eine achtköpfige Delegation aus der Ukraine Dortmund und Essen, um sich mit den deutschen Erfahrungen des Strukturwandels vertraut zu machen.

Seminar „Erinnern für die Zukunft“ für die Gruppe Mykolajiw-Tschernihiw

Vom 22.-24. Februar und vom 28.-30. März 2019 fanden in Mykolajiw bzw. Tschernihiw zwei Etappen des Seminars „Erinnern für die Zukunft“ für die Gruppe Mykolajiw-Tschernihiw statt, an dem Geschichtsstudenten aus den Oblasten Mykolajiw und Tschernihiw teilnahmen.

Women empowerment in public administration in Ukraine

On the 25th of March the open discussion “Women empowerment in public administration in Ukraine” took place in Kyiv. The event was organized by the NGO “Professional Government”, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Office in Ukraine (Kyiv) and UNDP Ukraine. The representatives of international organizations, members of Ukrainian parliament as well as public servants in the format of personal story telling gave their prospective on women representation in Ukraine.
