“The United States and Germany – Strategic Partners in a Changing World” - Foundation Office Washington, D.C.
Discussion
Details
On September 29, 2016, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung invites guests to a discussion on the transatlantic relationship. Currently, the world is facing many developments, including climate change, conflicts in the Middle East, terrorism, and the European refugee crisis, all of which impact bilateral relations between the United States and Germany. After welcoming remarks from Dr. Lars Hänsel, Director of the KAS Office in Washington, and Dr. Gerhard Wahlers, Deputy Secretary General of KAS, Klaus-Dieter Frankenberger, foreign editor at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, will introduce the topic and place it in context of today’s reality, including the current U.S. presidential elections and its potential impact on the transatlantic relationship. Robert Zoellick, former President of the World Bank, and Dr. Norbert Röttgen, member of the German Bundestag, will then reflect on expected future developments and mechanisms through which Germany and the United States can ensure a lasting strategic partnership.
This Event is by Invitation only.
