The delegation, journalists in the Asia News Network (ANN) who are participating in the 67th Annual World Media News Congress, will meet government officials, policy experts and leading investigative journalists during the seminar in Washington. Meeting topics for the group will include trade relations and current challenges in the transatlantic relationship regarding the pivot to Asia, ongoing and emerging security threats in Asia such as tensions in the South China Sea, border security and Islamic military challenges.

The “Media Programme Asia” was established in 1996 to promote a free, responsible and ethical press in the region. This is achieved by strengthening dialogue amongst leading editors and journalists through regional conferences and meetings and by two key initiatives: the Asia News Network (ANN) and the Konrad Adenauer Center for Journalism (ACFJ) at Ateneo de Manila University.
